The Reserves travelled away to Nuneaton Griff, suffering an agonisingly late goal to draw the tie, despite first half goals from Randane Larmond and Captain Jordan Ganderton putting the side ahead.

The Reds got off to a terrible start, conceding in the 9th minute directly from a free kick. After the slow start, the Reds finally got going and levelled the game in the 31st minute, when Randane Larmond powered his way to goal to pull off an outstanding chip over the keeper into the back of the net!

With the momentum swinging The Reds’ way, Captain Jordan Ganderton added the second in as many minutes via a flicker header with the back of his head! Now in the lead, the Reds looked confident and competitive, and went into half time with a spring in their step.

Going out into the second half, the Reds knew they must grab that third goal to kill the game, especially with the strong wind going against them. With that in mind, the Reds continued to attack and produced many chances, but were unable to add to their lead.

Despite squandering many chances, The Reds produced a very mature performance in the second half, remaining solid and professional. With the Reds deep into added time, they seemingly had done the job and secured the 3 points. However, in the 96th minute, the home side scored their 2nd to level the game, to the heartbreak of the Reds.

Coming away from home and leaving with a point is ultimately a good result, however the manor in which the game finished leaves a bitter taste in the mouth and feels like a defeat. The Reds return to home action next weekend, hosting Wyrley Juniors.
