The U18’s were unable to buck the trend of struggling away from home, and suffered a 7-1 loss at the hands of Stourport Swifts.

The Reds started positively and were arguably the better team for the opening 25 minutes. The home side however, were first to break the deadlock, after a goalmouth scramble resulting from a corner ended with the ball rolling into the Redditch United net.

However, immediately from kick off, The Reds charged up the other end, with Owusu Acheampong cutting inside with precision to fire a strike into the top corner from 20 yards out! 1-1.

Stourport continued to pile on the frustration for the Reds though, and added two more before half time, to send them into the dressing rooms looking to regroup and go again in the second half.

After another tight and closely contested opening moments to the half, the home side broke the deadlock again in the 60th minute, to put them into an unassailable lead. They then went on to add another 3 by the end of the second half, making it 7-1 by the full time whistle.

Despite the heavy score line, the performance did not match the result, with the Reds showing improvements on grass and away from home.
