The U18’s were defeated 3-2 away at Bishop’s Cleeve, despite Jake Grogan putting The Reds into the lead early in the game.

The Reds travelled away to Bishop’s Cleeve, looking for back to back wins and to carry the good form from the past week into the game.

They had the perfect start, in the 4th minute when Jake Grogan nodded in an accurate header to grab his first goal of the season and put the Reds 1-0 up.

Despite the impressive start, the Reds could not hold onto their lead as Bishop’s Cleeve made it 1-1 directly from a free kick. The home side added another in the 35th minute. Despite the Reds having the better chances, they went into half time 2-1 behind.

The second half continued in similar fashion, with The Reds threatening from several corners and set pieces, but frustratingly were unable to take advantage of them.

Bishop’s Cleeve took advantage of The Reds failing to take their chances in the 75th minute, making it 3-1.

The Reds reacted to the 3rd goal well however, and fought to grab one back in the 78th minute, through Kasum Bayo who tapped the ball into an empty net after a superb shot from Fin Gaynor slammed the crossbar.

The late comeback was not to be however, with the game finishing 3-2. A very frustrating evening for The Reds, who will go away tonight knowing they should have got much more from the match.
