The Redditch United Football Academy have set the next Open Event for February Half Term 2018.

The event on Wednesday 21st February will be held between 12:00 and 15:00 and will provided school and college leavers the opportunity to learn more about our programmes and take part in a training session on the Trico Stadium 1st Team 3G pitch.

Development of the Academy for the 2018 starters is going to make Redditch Utd a very exciting place to be with the addition of further education programmes including a new University Level HND programme offered. This means that as well as recruiting school leavers from the area the team will also be able to recruit nationally from other Academies across the country. Student can have the course and maintenance funded through the governments Student Loans Company.

In addition opportunities for the Academy have been boosted by the Academy taking over the Redditch United Reserves in the Midland Football League and in doing so will see the Academy players pitted against teams like Alvechurch, Nuneaton Griff and Bromsgrove Sporting.

Redditch United General Manager David Tittershill said:

“We are very happy to have developed our Academy offer for next season. Adding a University course and including the Academy within the senior team structure will enhance the opportunities available for our players. I have already taken two of the Academy players into the 1st Team and many more have trained with the squas. We are building a progressive pathway for the Academy structure and this is integral for building our Club.
