The expanding Redditch United Football Academy are looking forward to kicking off their pre-season at the end of July at The Trico Stadium. The Academy are looking to limit their squad to 45 this season and within that will offer players a full time coaching programme alongside College and University level education.

The football programme has been developed this year due to the Academy dominating football affairs last year as they were run out winner in their AoC Conference. This year the Academy players will feed directly into the Clubs U18 Floodlit League side and also represent the Club at Reserve Team Level in the MFL Reserve Division.

Academy Director David Faulkner explains; “we needed to progress the opportunities for our players within the club to make them more prepared for senior football. Last year we had a few break into the mould at first team level but this year we look to develop this by adding a development phase with our Reserve squad. Our Academy players will now directly feed into the Clubs U18’s, U19’s and Reserve teams. This will mean that players will predominantly play on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons in front of a paying gate and under the lights at The Trio Stadium.

Pre-season for the squad starts at he end of July and alongside training the players are also have fixtures against a variety of non-league and football league clubs.
