Manager Darren Byfield has brought two of the club’s academy players into his first team squad.
It is the first time students on the successful full-time course have made the step up and the Reds boss is hoping others will follow in their path.

Left-sided defender and wing back Jack Cole and attacking midfielder Jack Nicholls signed first team forms after impressing during training and in their academy matches.

“I work with these lads out on the pitch day in, day out, and I’m delighted to be able to add the two Jacks to my squad,” the Reds manager explained. “Being part of the first team set-up can only help with their football development and we have shown that there is a clear pathway from the academy. “There are some talented players studying down at the club and I can see others following the same route into the first team.”

Students on the full-time Redditch United Football Academy courses have the opportunity to hone their skills alongside their classroom studies, working towards BTEC and HND qualifications.

An academy open day has been planned for Tuesday, November 7, and for more details check out the website at rufcacademy.co.uk
