The Redditch United Reserves got their season off to a wining start away to Moors Academy at Tally Ho Sports Ground.
Redditch got off to the perfect start, with forward Daniel MacDonald-Taylor slotting away a cool finish in the 9th minute to give the Reds an early lead. The first half continued and was an end to end affair, however neither side were successful in converting their chances.
The home team were quickest out the blocks in the second half, and equalised shortly after the interval. The Moors continued to knock on the door for the majority of the second half, but the Reds withstood the pressure to keep the game level. With game looking likely to end in a draw, In stoppage time, Kasum Bayo was brought on. Within seconds of being on the pitch, he rifled one home from 20 yards to win the game! The Reds held on for the remaining minutes to seal the 3 points away from home.
A tough test to open our league campaign, and an important 3 points to ensure we started positively. Hopefully we can kick on from this, look to improve performances and have a successful season
