The Reserves returned to action at home to host Wyrley Reserves, looking to improve on the result in the reverse victory.

 

The Reds began the game positively, playing out from the back with confidence and having a lot of success. The Reds maintained their possession of the ball, and probed away for the majority of the first half. However, were unable to convert a chance into a goal. This was until the 37th minute, when Daniel MacDonald-Taylor drove into the box to fire the ball into the far corner! 1-0.

 

The Reds went into half time with the lead, looking to build on an extremely positive first half performance.

 

The Reds continued their first half performance into the second half, and doubled the lead almost immediately in the 53rd minute when Owusu got in behind and drove the ball into the far corner, continuing his fine form for yesterday evening. 2-0.

 

Owusu continued to terrify the opposition, and doubled his tally in the 75th minute, after his cultured finish found the back of the net. 3-0!

 

Shortly after, Daniel MacDonald-Taylor used his frightening pace to get in behind and slot home a cool finish to make it 4-0! MacDonald-Taylor being rewarded for being a constant threat, and putting numerous easy chances missed behind him.

 

The final whistle blew, with the Reserves winning the game 4-0. A superb performance from the reds, displaying their ability on the ball and capability to maintain possession and play out from the back.

 

The Reserves will be looking to carry their excellent performance into an away fixture, against Gresely Reserves.
