With Christmas round the corner, it brings an end to a successful first term at the Academy, in which huge strides have been made on various fronts.

With teams being entered into theΒ  U18’s Midland Youth Floodlit League, and the Total Motion Midland Football League, our academy players have been given the opportunity to compete at higher levels.

The brand new U18 Floodlit side have developed over the first term into an exciting outfit, under new Academy Coach Josh Wright, putting 4 wins and 1 draw together from 6 since taking up the role. With games in hand, and an upturn in form, 2019 looks to be an exciting year for the U18’s, who will look to continue to rise up the table and realise their potential.

With the new Reserves side being formed, it has given our exciting prospects the opportunity to showcase their ability at a higher level, competing against men’s teams and first team opposition. The chance to compete at such level has been a huge benefit to various players within the academy, exposing them to higher ability players, higher physicality, as well the chance to train with the Redditch United First Team. Currently sitting in 7th place, the Reserves will hope to kick on in 2019 with a new manager incoming, who will be looking to freshen up the side and elevate the Reds further up the table.

2019 looks to be another exciting year for the academy, with various open events and trial days scheduled for the new year!
