The Under 18’s travelled away to Cheltenham Town U18’s, looking to bounce back from a poor run of form.

The Reds started disappointingly, with the home side taking the lead in the 8th minute. Cheltenham Town continued to be the superior side for the remainder of the half, but were unable to add to their lead, with The Reds fighting to stay in the game.

The Reds came out in the second half with an improved performance, and showed more bravery and willingness to maintain possession and create chances. Despite this, The Reds were unable to level the game.

The home side grew back into the game, with Reds goalkeeper Adam Hancox being required to pull off numerous spectacular saves to keep the score 1-0. However, in the 58th minute, Cheltenham managed to beat Hancox’s defences to double their lead.

The Reds struck back immediately however, with Mo Konteh winning and converting a penalty in the 59th minute to bring the Reds back into the game.

Despite efforts from the the Reds to bring the game level, they were unable to do so, and the home side eventually regained their two goal lead in the 67th minute to make it 3-1, which is how the game ended.

Another disappointing defeat for the u18’s. With the next fixture being at home on Tuesday night vs Malvern Town, the Reds will be looking to take the opportunity to bounce back quickly!
